Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has launched a marketing campaign in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to integrate cryptocurrency into everyday experiences through its partnership with Careem, the region’s leading super app. The initiative, part of Bybit’s broader strategy to bridge Web2 and Web3 ecosystems, features advertisements displayed within the Careem app, targeting both existing and potential users of the platform. These ads highlight exclusive deals and promotions accessible via Bybit’s services, which include trading, custody, wealth management, and payment solutions. The campaign, rolling out during the summer months, aims to position digital assets as a practical and rewarding alternative to traditional payment methods across sectors such as entertainment, dining, and transportation [1].
Bybit’s collaboration with Careem follows a series of regional partnerships, including discounts for Bybit Cardholders at Dubai’s Grand Millennium hotel and long-term engagement with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) for blockchain education. The campaign emphasizes accessibility and customer-centricity, with Claudia Wang, Head of Marketing at Bybit, noting that the company’s approach dissolves the boundaries between traditional and Web3 marketing. “We are everywhere our customers want us to be,” she stated, underscoring Bybit’s strategy to align with popular local lifestyle choices [1].
The MENA region is being positioned as a testing ground for Bybit’s vision of an integrated onchain economy. Over 70 million Bybit users, described as “early adopters of smart money,” are expected to benefit from the campaign’s localized offers, which aim to foster financial freedom and elevate daily living. Bybit’s services, already extended to airport lounges and AI co-pilot subscriptions, now expand into real-world experiences, reflecting the company’s shift from a trading-focused platform to a crypto-enabled lifestyle brand [1].
Bybit’s expansion into MENA aligns with its global mission to simplify crypto adoption. The exchange, founded in 2018, has prioritized partnerships with blockchain protocols to drive innovation and has leveraged its secure infrastructure to bridge traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi). The Careem campaign represents a strategic step toward embedding digital assets into everyday commerce, a move that could accelerate regional crypto adoption and validate Bybit’s role as a leader in decentralized finance [1].
