Bybit Offers $140M Bounty for Stolen ETH Recovery
Cryptocurrency exchange Bybit has launched a "Bug Bounty Program," offering a 10% reward on any stolen funds recovered. The program aims to incentivize global cybersecurity and crypto analysis experts to help track down the perpetrators of the largest cryptocurrency theft in history, which involved over $1.4 billion worth of ETH at the time of the incident.
The total bounty amount will be based on the verifiable amount of recovered ETH, with a potential maximum reward of $140 million if all funds are recovered. Bybit CEO Ben Zhou stated that the platform had received strong support from industry-leading individuals and organizations within 24 hours of the incident. The "Bug Bounty Program" is a formal way to reward community members who provide professional knowledge, experience, and support to the platform. Interested participants can contact the platform at bounty_program@bybit.com.
