Bybit Launches Byreal DEX on Solana Blockchain in 2025

Bybit, a prominent cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the launch of Byreal, a decentralized exchange (DEX) built on the Solana blockchain. This new platform aims to combine the liquidity of centralized exchanges (CEX) with the transparency of decentralized finance (DeFi). The testnet for Byreal is scheduled to go live on June 30, 2025, with the mainnet release planned for the third quarter of the same year.
Ask Aime: Which stocks will benefit from Byreal's launch on Solana?
Bybit's CEO, Ben Zhou, highlighted the unique features of Byreal, emphasizing that it is not just another DEX. Byreal integrates CEX-grade liquidity with DeFi-native transparency, offering users low-slippage and MEV-protected swaps at high speeds. This is achieved through advanced routing mechanisms, including RFQ (Request for Quote) and CLMM (Concentrated Liquidity Market Maker). RFQ allows buyers or sellers to request quotes from multiple sources to find the best price, while CLMM enables liquidity providers to concentrate their capital within specific price ranges, creating deeper liquidity around the current market price.
The Byreal team clarified that the new DEX is incubated by Bybit but operates independently. Unlike many other DEXs, Byreal is not launching a native token at this stage, focusing instead on a product-first approach. This strategy aims to provide a seamless and efficient trading experience for users.
Byreal's entry into the market comes at a time when the DEX landscape is highly competitive. The total value locked (TVL) in DEXs has seen fluctuations, but the overall trend has been relatively stable over the past few years. On the Solana blockchain, Raydium is the largest DEX, with a substantial market share of the total value locked in the Solana ecosystem. Byreal's launch on Solana adds to the growing ecosystem of decentralized exchanges on the network, offering users another option for transparent and efficient trading.
Bybit's decision to launch Byreal on Solana is strategic, as the blockchain has gained popularity for its speed and low transaction costs. Byreal's hybrid model aims to bridge the gap between centralized and decentralized exchanges, providing users with the best of both worlds. The platform's focus on liquidity, transparency, and advanced routing mechanisms positions it as a strong contender in the competitive DEX market.
Byreal introduces a new ecosystem of products including liquid staking and yield products tailored for the Solana blockchain. Byreal's entry into the DEX space could reshape competition, with Solana's landscape benefiting from new liquidity models. As Byreal prepares for its testnet launch, stakeholders anticipate further market share shifts among existing DEX platforms.
Potential outcomes include an increase in Solana DeFi TVL and trading volumes. Historical precedents suggest that new market entrants like Byreal can impact liquidity dynamics and potentially drive innovation in exchange offerings. Solana experienced a price surge following the announcement, reflecting optimistic market sentiment.
