Scott Rubner, managing director of Goldman's global markets division, said US stocks should rebound by the end of the year but only after a period of negative short-term factors including technical positioning, fund flows and pre-election jitters. “Tactically, I am bearish into the end of the quarter, but the target is for the S&P 500 to rebound by year-end,” Mr Rubner said in a client note on Friday.
