Broadcom has launched Jericho4, an advanced ethernet fabric router for distributed AI computing, with the ability to interconnect over 1 million XPUs and feature 3.2 Tbps HyperPort technology. Manufactured on a 3nm process, Jericho4 improves efficiency, security, and scalability in data centers. The Jericho4 also boasts full MACsec encryption on every port and lossless RoCE transport over distances exceeding 100 kilometers.

Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ: AVGO), a leading global provider of semiconductor and infrastructure software solutions, has announced the shipping of Jericho4, an advanced ethernet fabric router designed to interconnect over one million XPUs across multiple data centers. This innovative platform is engineered to support the growing demands of distributed AI workloads, breaking through traditional scaling limits with unmatched bandwidth, security, and lossless performance.

Jericho4 is manufactured on a 3nm process, incorporating Broadcom's advanced 200G PAM4 SerDes technology, which eliminates the need for additional components like retimers. This results in lower power usage, reduced cost, and higher system reliability. The router features 3.2 Tbps HyperPort technology, which consolidates four 800GE links into a single logical port, boosting utilization by up to 70% and streamlining traffic flow across large fabrics.

One of Jericho4's standout features is its support for MACsec encryption on every port at full speed, ensuring robust security without compromising performance. Additionally, it provides lossless RoCE transport over distances exceeding 100 kilometers, enabling truly distributed AI infrastructure unconstrained by power and space limitations at a single location.

Ram Velaga, senior vice president and general manager of Broadcom's Core Switching Group, highlighted the significance of Jericho4 in enabling large-scale distributed computing systems. "The Jericho4 family is engineered to extend AI-scale Ethernet fabrics beyond individual data centers, supporting congestion-free RoCE and 3.2 Tbps HyperPort for unprecedented interconnect efficiency," he stated.

Jericho4 is fully compliant with specifications developed by the Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC), ensuring interoperability across open, standards-based Ethernet AI fabrics. This allows seamless integration with a broad ecosystem of UEC-compliant NICs, switches, and software stacks.

The Jericho4 router is currently sampling to customers and complements Broadcom's existing portfolio, including Tomahawk 6 and Tomahawk Ultra, offering a complete networking solution for high-performance computing (HPC) and AI environments.
