Breet's Upgrade Tackles Africa's Crypto Volatility and Slow Payments

Breet, a leading over-the-counter (OTC) crypto platform in Africa, has launched Breet 3.0 Pro Max, a major upgrade designed to streamline crypto-to-cash transactions and address longstanding challenges in digital asset management across the region. The platform's enhancements focus on operational clarity, faster processing, and improved security, aiming to bolster crypto adoption among individuals and businesses.
The update introduces holding converted crypto in stable dollars, allowing users to hold converted crypto in stable dollars before swapping to local currencies at optimal rates. Previously, digital assets were automatically converted to Naira or Cedis upon sale, exposing users to volatility during bank settlements. Breet 3.0 Pro Max also replaces its tiered exchange system with a flat fee structure, applicable to all transaction sizes, paired with transparent fees to reduce uncertainty.

A key feature is peer-to-peer transfers between Breet accounts via username or email, bypassing traditional bank networks and eliminating delays. The platform also automates resolution for account issues, enabling users to rectify issues like insufficient funds through self-service top-ups or fees, minimizing reliance on customer support.
For businesses, the platform enhances transaction capabilities with customizable templates, multi-currency support (USD or local currency), and branding options. A VIP tier is now available for high-volume traders, offering improved rates, faster processing, and enhanced security for transactions above $5,000. Additionally, a security dashboard tracks account access, devices, and locations, improving security monitoring.
The upgrade addresses critical pain points in Africa's crypto ecosystem, where users often faced slow settlements, unstable values, and limited transparency according to industry analysis. By integrating USD wallets and consistent rates, Breet aims to stabilize purchasing power during currency conversions. Instant transfers and automated resolutions further reduce friction in transactions, while the VIP desk caters to institutional demand as reported in a November 22 release.
Breet's CEO emphasized the significance of the update in a November 22 press release, stating, "Breet 3.0 Pro Max reflects our commitment to rebuilding core operations with African user needs in mind. These features support stable value management, streamlined payments, and enhanced transparency".
The platform's expansion aligns with growing crypto adoption across Africa, where digital assets are increasingly used for cross-border trade, remittances, and business operations. Analysts note that Breet's focus on simplicity and privacy could further accelerate mainstream usage, particularly as traditional banking infrastructure remains uneven in many regions.
