Brave Software, the company behind the privacy-focused Brave browser and the integrated multi-chain Brave Wallet, has announced a strategic partnership with Input | Output (IO), the developer of the Cardano blockchain. This collaboration aims to integrate Cardano into the Brave Wallet, providing users with direct access to the Cardano blockchain and its native assets.

The integration will enable Brave Wallet users to manage Cardano native assets, such as $NIGHT, sign transactions, and participate in on-chain governance activities. This move expands Brave's multi-chain capabilities, which already support networks like Ethereum and Solana. According to Brendan Eich, CEO and co-founder of Brave and the Basic Attention Token, the integration not only broadens multi-chain access but also enhances security, governance participation, and the overall user experience.

Eich explained that Brave focuses on maximizing user choice while providing tools to engage with decentralized ecosystems. With this integration, users of the Web3 browser and standalone wallet will gain direct access to Cardano’s blockchain without leaving the interfaces. This integration aligns with Brave's commitment to building a Web3 ecosystem that maximizes interoperation for user choice and provides better tools to engage with decentralized ecosystems.

The partnership between Brave and IO is seen as a foundation for future innovations around engagement with Cardano’s governance and Midnight, a blockchain developed by Shielded Technologies. Midnight is an Input | Output spinout focused on confidential smart contracts and data protection. This integration is expected to benefit over 70 million Brave users and other crypto enthusiasts by providing them with access to Cardano native tokens, including ADA and NIGHT.

Charles Hoskinson, CEO of IO, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating that it advances a new standard for how blockchain networks should empower individuals. By bringing Cardano into Brave Wallet, the partnership aims to protect privacy while enabling active, on-chain participation. This integration is part of Brave's ongoing efforts to enhance its multi-chain capabilities and provide users with a seamless experience in managing their crypto assets. The integration of Cardano into the Brave Wallet is a significant step towards achieving this goal, offering users a more comprehensive and secure way to interact with the Cardano blockchain.
