Braiins Hits 1,000 Daily Lightning Payouts, Boosting Bitcoin Mining Efficiency by 20%
Braiins, a prominent Bitcoin mining pool, has achieved a significant milestone by processing over 1,000 daily payouts on the Lightning Network. This development underscores the growing potential of the Lightning Network to facilitate instant, low-cost transactions at scale within the mining sector.
Braiins first introduced Lightning payouts in February 2024 through a collaboration with Voltage, a payments platform. Since then, the mining pool has witnessed consistent double-digit monthly growth in Lightning transactions. This shift allows miners to receive immediate payouts of their earnings, bypassing the slower and more expensive on-chain settlement processes.
Eli Nagar, CEO of Braiins, highlighted the transformative impact of Lightning payouts, stating, “Lightning payouts have completely changed the way miners receive their earnings. Rather than waiting for on-chain transactions, our miners are now getting instant, frictionless payouts every single day.”
From mid-2024 to early 2025, Braiins has seen an average month-over-month increase of nearly 20% in Lightning payout volumes. This efficiency has been particularly beneficial for small and medium-sized mining operators who require quicker access to capital.
Reaching over 1,000 daily payouts on the Lightning Network positions Braiins as a leader in mining technology innovation. graham Krizek, CEO of Voltage, commented, “This milestone demonstrates how Lightning enables real-world, high-volume transactions at an unprecedented scale.”
As more mining pools adopt the Lightning Network for payouts, the broader Bitcoin ecosystem is poised to benefit from reduced network congestion, lower transaction fees, and faster settlement times. This trend suggests a future where the financial infrastructure supporting Bitcoin miners becomes more seamless and efficient, fostering a more robust and scalable ecosystem.
