BP and Corteva have launched a 50-50 joint venture, Etlas, to cultivate crops for extracting oils to be refined into sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel. The partnership aims to scale production of vegetable oils from crops like canola, mustard, and sunflower. Etlas expects to commence supply in 2027 and target production of 1 million metric tons of feedstock annually by the mid-2030s.
