Bombardier has announced the successful completion of the first production Global 8000 aircraft's inaugural flight. The aircraft, which is the evolution of the Global 7500, boasts top speeds of Mach 0.94, the longest range for a four-zone business jet at 8,000 NM, and the industry's smoothest ride. The Global 8000 will feature four true living spaces, exceptional comfort, and the longest seated length size in its class. It will offer ultra-high cruise speeds and increased routes, including Dubai to Houston and London to Perth.

Bombardier Inc. has announced the successful completion of the first production Global 8000 aircraft's inaugural flight, marking a significant milestone in the company's business jet program. The Global 8000, an evolution of the highly successful Global 7500, completed its maiden flight from Bombardier’s Aircraft Assembly Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, on May 16, 2025.

The Global 8000 boasts impressive specifications, including a top speed of Mach 0.94, the longest range for a four-zone business jet at 8,000 nautical miles (NM), and an ultra-low cabin altitude of 2,900 feet. These features position the Global 8000 as the fastest civil aircraft since the Concorde and the ultimate business jet for discerning owners and operators.

The aircraft's maiden flight, executed by a team of expert pilots, successfully completed a series of tests as part of the production flight test procedures. The Global 8000 will now proceed to Bombardier’s Laurent Beaudoin Completion Centre in Montreal for interior completions before entering service in the second half of 2025.

Stephen McCullough, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Product Development at Bombardier, expressed satisfaction with the aircraft's performance during its inaugural flight. He noted that the Global 8000's low cabin altitude, luxurious and healthy cabin, signature smooth ride, and unparalleled performance capabilities make it a clear choice for business owners and operators prioritizing convenience and flexibility.

The Global 8000 is designed to offer exceptional comfort, featuring four true living spaces, a separate crew rest area, and the longest seated length in its class. Additionally, its ultra-high cruise speed of Mach 0.92 allows for a range of up to 4,200 NM, enabling more routes, including Dubai to Houston, Singapore to Los Angeles, and London to Perth.

Bombardier's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction is evident in the Global 8000, which sets new standards for performance and ride quality. The aircraft's unique design and cutting-edge engineering also provide customers with the ability to access smaller airports, expanding their operational flexibility.

The successful completion of the Global 8000's inaugural flight is a testament to Bombardier's engineering, production, and flight teams' dedication and high skill level. As the company continues to push the boundaries of business aviation, the Global 8000 is poised to redefine the industry landscape.
