Ms Stephanie Pope, Boeing's (BA.US) chief operating officer, said the company expects to boost production of its 737 jetliner this year.

Ms Pope added that the company was pushing "change" based on feedback from customers, regulators and employees.

The head of Boeing's commercial airplanes said the company was increasing capacity at its 737 factory, which would "significantly" boost the production rate of its best-selling jetliner.

A 737 Max 9 operated by Alaska Airlines experienced a metal panel explosion this year, and Boeing is facing stricter scrutiny from aviation authorities and customers. The Federal Aviation Administration has limited 737 production until the agency is confident the company has taken measures to address safety issues.

Ms Pope said the company had developed a turnaround plan that included safety and quality plans, stable factories and a focus on company culture.

Turning market noise into visual signal.
