BNB Chain has officially launched the BNB Hack, a continuous hackathon designed to stimulate innovation among developers worldwide. This initiative is centered around four key areas: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Decentralized Science (DeSci), Decentralized Social (DeSoc), and Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN). Unlike traditional hackathons, the BNB Hack accepts submissions on an ongoing basis, with winners announced every two weeks, providing continuous opportunities for participation.
Participants are required to deploy their projects on the opBNB or Binance Smart Chain (BSC) mainnet or testnet, ensuring that the projects are open-source and publicly accessible. The program places a strong emphasis on encouraging first-time hackathon participants, aiming to foster fresh and innovative ideas. To qualify for evaluation, submissions must include a GitHub repository, a demonstration video, and contract addresses.
Selected developers will receive expert mentorship, technical support, and acceleration pathways. Top performers can earn rewards of up to $10,000, secure a direct interview with the MVB accelerator, and gain exposure through official BNB Chain channels. This initiative underscores BNB Chain's commitment to advancing blockchain technology and engaging with the developer community.
The BNB Hack has expanded to include four key innovation tracks: AI, DeSoc, DeSci, and DePIN. This continuous, open-entry hackathon is designed to accelerate the adoption of blockchain technology in various real-world applications. Participants can submit their projects at any time, with winners announced bi-weekly. The hackathon offers flexibility with virtual and in-person components, including workshops, mentorship, and 24/7 support through a dedicated Discord group.
The AI track focuses on intelligent agents and other AI-related projects. The DeSoc track aims to build a more
and transparent Web3 society, with projects centered around social graph protocols, decentralized identity, and community-building platforms. The DeSci track seeks to revolutionize scientific research by promoting open access, collaboration, and innovation. The DePIN track is dedicated to projects that connect blockchain technology to real-world assets and services, enhancing efficiency and creating new economic models. The hackathon offers tiered cash rewards, with the top prize being $10,000. Winners also have the opportunity to participate in demo days, MVB accelerator programs, and receive comprehensive marketing support. Additional benefits include collaboration with BNB Chain partners, potential seed funding, and grants. Projects must be deployed on or connected to the opBNB/BSC mainnet or testnet, be open-source, and free for others to use. Submission requirements include a tweet describing the project, tagging @BNBChain and #BNBHack, and a detailed roadmap outlining future plans.
The scoring criteria for the hackathon emphasize the importance of contract verification, open-source code, detailed documentation, community engagement, and innovative design. Projects that lack novelty, fail to achieve claimed functions, or have usability issues may face score reductions. BNB Chain provides a developer toolkit to help participants jumpstart their projects, including access to the
Faucet, opBNB documentation, and Greenfield resources. The BNB Hack presents an opportunity for developers to build decentralized infrastructure, advance open science, and rethink social connections in Web3. With dedicated tracks for AI, DeSoc, DeSci, and DePIN, the hackathon offers the freedom to build what matters most, at participants' own pace. By joining the BNB Hack, developers can help shape the future of infrastructure, science, society, and intelligence on the BNB Chain.
