Blue Owl Capital's Digital Infrastructure strategy has acquired South Reach Networks (SRN), a Florida-based fiber infrastructure provider, to expand its network. SRN operates a 370-mile dark and lit fiber network connecting 40+ data centers, colocation sites, and cable landing stations. Blue Owl plans to inject significant capital to expand SRN's network and meet growing demand from hyperscale and enterprise clients.
Following the acquisition, Scott Bergs, the current CEO of Dark Fiber and Infrastructure (DF&I), another Blue Owl portfolio company operating along the east coast in Virginia and Maryland, will assume the role of CEO of SRN. Bergs praised SRN as a top-tier Florida communications infrastructure provider and affirmed plans to expand its footprint [1]. SRN's CRO, Mike Sevret, expressed enthusiasm for the company's growth under Blue Owl's ownership [1].
Chris Jensen, Managing Director at Blue Owl, highlighted the strategic importance of Florida and the broader Southeast for hyperscale clients. Blue Owl plans to leverage SRN's existing network and infrastructure to meet the increasing demand for high-speed connectivity in the region [2].
The acquisition is part of Blue Owl's broader strategy to invest in digital infrastructure and support the growth of its hyperscale and enterprise clients. With over $273 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2025, Blue Owl is well-positioned to provide the capital and expertise needed to expand SRN's network [3].
The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. However, the deal is expected to provide incremental scale and deepen Blue Owl's existing fiber capabilities, bolstering its ability to address the needs of its customers [1].
