BlockDAG has announced a strategic partnership with the Seattle Orcas, a prominent team in Major League Cricket. This collaboration aims to integrate BlockDAG’s Layer 1 technology with the Orcas’ online ecosystem, bringing Web3 tools and NFTs to the cricketing world. The partnership leverages cricket’s global popularity, with an audience of around 2.5 billion people worldwide, to introduce new users to the Web3 space, particularly in regions with high cricket enthusiasm.
Through this alliance, BlockDAG plans to revolutionize how fans interact with their favorite team. The initiative focuses on blockchain features such as NFTs, collectibles, fan tokens, and access to exclusive content. These elements are designed to enhance fan involvement by offering early access to merchandise, participation in online votes, and unlocking private content featuring coaches and players. This strategy is particularly relevant in cricket-loving countries where digital fan activity is on the rise.
The partnership will also include co-branded digital content across the Orcas’ social channels. This campaign will feature videos led by players, fan highlight reels, and match previews that double as Web3 education for sports fans exploring crypto. The collaboration is not just a short-term push but a season-long strategy to demonstrate how blockchain can bring lasting value to sports through fan empowerment, transparency, and deeper connection.
Seattle Orcas CEO Hemant Dua highlighted the significance of this partnership, stating that it represents a significant step towards enhancing how fans connect with the game. By integrating blockchain technology, the Orcas are opening new avenues for fan participation and engagement. This digital collaboration is supported by the Orcas’ strong performance on the field, which has garnered international coverage and created a timely advantage for BlockDAG.
BlockDAG’s GLOBAL LAUNCH is scheduled for August 11, with $329 million raised through its presale. The project is expanding its presence beyond crypto circles, aiming for wider recognition in spaces where loyalty and culture run deep. BlockDAG is also supporting the Seattle Seawolves, using a wider sports sponsorship approach to connect with Web3 audiences passionate about cricket and rugby. This strategy goes beyond logos and banners, embedding within real fan stories to build authentic recognition ahead of its major launch.
Nicolaas van den Bergh, CMO at BlockDAG, emphasized the potential of cricket’s global appeal in leveraging blockchain technology for enhancing fan engagement. The collaboration aims to harness this energy, bringing fans closer to the action through innovative digital experiences. BlockDAG’s roadmap includes a live testnet, the sale of more than 18,250 ASIC mining units, and over 2 million users on its X1 Miner app. So far, the project has sold 23.6 billion BDAG coins, with the price fixed at $0.0016 until August 11.
This partnership with the Orcas offers a preview of how fan involvement is changing. Through blockchain-backed moments, fans will be able to archive, share, and relive games like never before. For BlockDAG, it’s another major step in turning presale momentum into long-term relevance as a leading Layer 1 platform. As cricket expands its global presence and digital engagement becomes the new norm, BlockDAG is placing itself right at the center. With Orcas supporters now joining its journey, this partnership doesn’t just mark progress; it sets the stage for new records to be made.
