BlackBerry Appoints Steve Rai as New CFO

OpenText appoints Steve Rai as EVP and Chief Financial Officer. Rai has experience in finance and previously worked at Bloomberg. He joins OpenText from BlackBerry Ltd, where he held the position of Chief Financial Officer. Rai received an undergraduate degree from Simon Fraser University.

OpenText Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX) has appointed Steve Rai as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective October 6, 2025. Rai brings over 30 years of global finance experience, most recently serving as CFO of BlackBerry Limited, where he led financial strategy during significant technological transitions. He joins OpenText from BlackBerry Ltd, where he held the position of Chief Financial Officer. Rai received an undergraduate degree from Simon Fraser University.

Mr. Rai's appointment follows the interim CFO role held by Cosmin Balota, who will resume his position as Chief Accounting Officer. Rai will be based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. OpenText's interim CEO, James McGourley, expressed his pleasure in welcoming Rai to the company, highlighting his impressive background in finance and operations within the technology industry. McGourley expects Rai's leadership to drive OpenText's next phase of growth and strategic vision.
