Varun Kao, a former quantitative analyst at bridgewater Associates, has recently joined bitwise Asset Management Inc., a San Francisco-based crypto asset management company. Kao will be working as a quantitative developer in Bitwise's New York office. This move is part of Bitwise's recent expansion, which includes the hiring of several new positions in both the US and Europe.

In addition to Kao, Bitwise has also hired Charles McLellan from BNY Mellon as an assistant portfolio manager and Claudia Beranzoli, who previously worked at Amundi, as an assistant legal counsel. These hires are part of Bitwise's broader strategy to strengthen its team and expand its capabilities in the crypto asset management space.

Overall, Bitwise has recently recruited 8 new positions in the US and 2 new positions in Europe, expanding its total staff to 105. This expansion reflects Bitwise's commitment to growing its team and enhancing its services in the rapidly evolving crypto market. The addition of experienced professionals like Kao, McLellan, and Beranzoli is expected to bring valuable expertise and insights to Bitwise, further solidifying its position as a leading player in the crypto asset management industry.

Ask Aime: "Is Bitwise Asset Management's recent expansion a sign of growing confidence in the crypto market?"
