Ika, a leading MPC network, has launched a Request for Proposals (RFP) program aimed at identifying the next generation of decentralized applications built on the
blockchain. The initiative is designed to highlight applications that can only be realized through the unique capabilities of Ika’s infrastructure, which enables cross-chain coordination without the need for traditional bridges or custodians. Developers are being invited to submit proposals that leverage Ika’s technology to create new design spaces in decentralized finance (DeFi), ownership structures, and infrastructure for users, DAOs, and AI agents [1].The RFP program is a significant milestone for the Sui ecosystem, as it allows developers to integrate Ika’s zero-trust MPC network with Sui smart contracts. This integration transforms Sui into a global coordination layer, enabling programmable and secure cross-chain operations. By eliminating the need for wrapped assets or custodial models, Ika empowers developers to work directly with native assets such as
and . This opens the door to new product categories that were previously unattainable within existing blockchain frameworks [1].The first wave of the RFP program highlights twelve selected projects that demonstrate the potential of the Ika + Sui combination. One of the key innovations showcased includes a zero-trust multi-chain lending protocol. This application allows users to use native assets like Bitcoin or staking positions as collateral to borrow other native assets such as Solana-based stablecoins, all governed by Sui smart contracts. Another example is a programmable Bitcoin DeFi layer, which enables lending, swaps, and yield strategies directly with Bitcoin without the need for intermediaries [1].
Beyond DeFi, the RFP also highlights projects that are redefining digital ownership and marketplaces. These include an account marketplace that allows for the secure transfer of entire blockchain accounts—such as gaming wallets or governance positions—across chains. Additionally, a revenue stream marketplace tokenizes future cash flows from protocols or validators, creating new opportunities for on-chain income generation. These innovations are expanding the scope of what can be traded and transferred across different blockchain ecosystems [1].
Infrastructure innovations are also a key focus of the RFP. The Ika + Sui stack enables new coordination models, including a "Wallet-as-a-Protocol" (WaaP) framework that allows applications to integrate onboarding and signing without custodians, decentralizing the popular WaaS model. Another notable project is a multi-chain DAO platform that enables decentralized autonomous organizations to manage assets and governance across ecosystems, even facilitating DAO mergers and acquisitions. An AI agent access control framework also introduces decentralized guardrails for AI agents, allowing them to interact securely across chains [1].
Selected proposals will receive funding, technical support, and visibility within the Ika ecosystem to develop production-ready applications that showcase the capabilities of the Ika + Sui stack. According to David Lachmish, Co-Founder of Ika, the projects in this RFP are not mere experiments but have the potential to evolve into major crypto-native companies. The initiative underscores the transformative potential of combining Ika’s MPC technology with Sui’s smart contract platform, creating a foundation for the next wave of decentralized innovation [1].
