Bitcoin ETFs See $381M Inflows as Price Rebounds 14%
Bitcoin ETFs experienced their highest single-day inflows since January, with a total of $381 million in investments. This surge in interest comes as Bitcoin's price rebounded to over $92,000, marking a significant recovery from its recent lows. The inflows indicate a renewed confidence in the cryptocurrency market, particularly among institutional investors who are increasingly viewing Bitcoin as a legitimate hedge against market uncertainties.
The recent inflows into Bitcoin ETFs follow a period of market volatility and investor hesitation, largely driven by the trade policies of President Trump. These policies have contributed to a depreciation of the US dollar, prompting investors to seek alternative assets that are not controlled by central banks. Bitcoin, with its decentralized nature, has emerged as a favored option in this environment.
Analysts suggest that the growing uncertainties in the traditional monetary system are driving institutional investors toward Bitcoin. Thomas Erdösi, head of product at a crypto data company, noted that the shifting regulatory environment and increasing uncertainty in the traditional monetary system are prompting institutional investors to recalibrate their strategies, with Bitcoin being the primary beneficiary.
Despite the recent inflows, Bitcoin ETFs have not yet reached the record highs seen earlier this year. Since their launch in January, Bitcoin ETFs have proven to be some of the most successful in history, with BlackRock’s ETF amassing an impressive $50 billion in inflows over just 11 months. In February, Bitcoin ETFs achieved a remarkable milestone by pulling in $1 billion in a single day.
While Bitcoin's price has rebounded to over $92,000, it is still 14% below the record high of $109,000 reached back in January. The recent surge in ETF activity and the growing interest from institutional investors suggest that Bitcoin's price could continue to rise as more investors seek refuge in the cryptocurrency amid market uncertainties.
