Crypto CEO Adds More Reasons to Criticize Ripple and XRP

Samson Mow, CEO of JAN3 and a prominent Bitcoin advocate, has reignited criticism of Ripple and its associated cryptocurrency, XRP. Known for his staunch support of Bitcoin, Mow has often opposed other cryptocurrencies, and his recent remarks on social media have rallied similar Bitcoin maximalists and intensified scrutiny of Ripple and the role XRP could play in a potential U.S. crypto reserve.

Mow Challenges XRP’s Inclusion

U.S. President Donald Trump recently ordered the evaluation of a national digital asset reserve. The debate within the cryptocurrency community now centers on whether the U.S. should diversify a potential digital asset reserve beyond Bitcoin.

Mow strongly opposes this idea, asserting that Bitcoin alone holds value as a national crypto reserve. He argues that adding other cryptocurrencies, such as XRP, would effectively reward companies that created tokens without inherent value.

He highlighted Ripple’s issuance of 100 billion XRP tokens as an example of this practice, stating that such actions are akin to generating wealth “out of thin air.” According to Mow, including XRP in a government-controlled reserve would misuse taxpayer funds, ultimately benefiting Ripple and its founders.

Calls For Increased Criticism of Ripple and XRP

Beyond the debate over crypto reserves, Mow expanded his critique of Ripple and XRP. Referring to a surge in posts criticizing the company and its cryptocurrency, Mow argued that existing negative opinions did not go far enough.

In his recent post on Twitter, he commented, “I see a lot of posts hating on or listing out reasons why you should hate Ripple/XRP, and I just want to add some perspective. You still don’t hate them enough, and there are still way more reasons why you should hate them.”

Mow’s remarks underline his belief that XRP’s creation process and its association with Ripple contradict the principles of decentralization and scarcity that Bitcoin embodies. His outspoken criticism has positioned him as a key opponent of Ripple’s ambitions within the cryptocurrency space.
