Bitcoin's $96K Plunge: Uncertainty Looms as Altcoins Stumble
Bitcoin's recent price drop has sparked controversy and uncertainty in the cryptocurrency market. Two weeks ago, Bitcoin fell below $97,000, and today it has dropped further to $96,000. The market is now more uncertain than ever, with investors questioning the future of the world's leading cryptocurrency.
The bearish market has been intensified by various factors, including Trump's declarations to wage a tariff war last month. At the time of publication, Bitcoin is faring at $95,509.75, with a staggering 1.47% fall over the last day. Experts are guessing that if the same trend continues, Bitcoin could hit a deadly low and shatter its dream of a $100,000 revival in 2025.
Altcoins are also facing desperate times. While Ethereum has climbed up 2% this week, other popular coins have lost traction. Bitcoin loss stores have become common over the last few months, and investors are questioning whether altcoins will share the same fate. While a Bitcoin crash to 17k is not expected anytime soon, the decentralized applications (dApps) are taking the traction away from Bitcoin.
One good thing for Bitcoin is that the Inflation Protection Act of 2025 will drive the US states toward Bitcoin-oriented investments. However, the short-term uncertainty persists. A chart analysis shows that Bitcoin is creating a triangular pattern in the market, with a thin chance of an imminent breakout. The coin is now going through a 50-day resistance of $97,000 and has hit three worst support levels: $94,100, $91,700, and $89,500.
