Bionano Genomics has announced three new peer-reviewed studies demonstrating the clinical value of its Optical Genome Mapping (OGM) technology across Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). The studies, published in Modern Pathology, the International Journal of Cancer, and npj Precision Oncology, found that OGM can detect prognostically important structural genomic alterations that elude standard karyotyping, FISH, and targeted sequencing panels. The studies also found that OGM-defined chromoanagenesis in MDS subjects had a median overall survival of just 9.9 months, significantly shorter than non-CAG subjects.
