Binance's Zhao Reveals Investment Philosophy: Focus on Fundamentals, Long-Term Growth

Changpeng Zhao, the former CEO of Binance, recently shared his personal investment philosophy, particularly in the realm of cryptocurrency. In a post on X, Zhao revealed an email exchange where an innovator from Dubai proposed a collaboration on a revolutionary asset tokenization model. The proposal, which was paid for with 0.6 BNB, outlined a groundbreaking approach to creating diverse financial products and expanding the use of real estate, commodities, and stocks as backing and collateral within the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Zhao, however, turned down the proposal, emphasizing that his focus is not on buying ideas but on evaluating the fundamentals of a project. He highlighted that "fancy models" do not interest him and that he scrutinizes crypto ideas based on tangible metrics such as product viability, user growth, revenues/profits, and team strength. These metrics, according to Zhao, are the backbone of any project requiring stability before investment consideration.

In his response to the innovator, Zhao detailed his core investment principles. He emphasized a long-term strategy of investing early in projects and holding for the long run. While acknowledging the risks involved in early adoption, Zhao believes that the disproportionate rewards from successful ventures should outweigh the setbacks.
