Binance Revolutionizes Tokenomics: Unlocked Tokens Now Count in Circulating Supply
Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has updated its method for calculating tokenomics. The new approach now includes unlocked tokens in the circulating supply count, providing a more comprehensive view of a project's token distribution and market capitalization.
The exchange announced that starting from February 14, 2025, it will incorporate the token unlocking schedule into information regarding market capitalization and circulating supply. This update aims to provide users with more detailed and transparent information about the token unlocking schedules of listed projects.
The new method works by including unlocked tokens in the market cap calculation. If data on unlocked tokens is unavailable, non-publicly accessible tokens will be excluded. Similarly, the circulating supply will now include unlocked tokens, with non-publicly accessible tokens excluded if data is unavailable.
With this update, users can now view each project's token unlocking schedule and its detailed information through the links provided on the project overview section on the Binance website and app. This change is expected to enhance transparency and help users make more informed decisions about their investments.
