Binance Lists Three New Altcoins After Community Vote, Tokens Gain Up To 25%
Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has announced the results of its second round of community-driven "Vote to List" campaign. The exchange will list three new altcoins: Ondo (ONDO), Big Time (BIGTIME), and Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL). These tokens were selected based on strong community support and thorough evaluation by Binance.
The voting process saw significant participation, with over 523,000 votes cast by more than 424,000 participants. Binance employed a multi-factor evaluation system to filter out spam and invalid entries, considering factors such as trading demand, organic community support, fundamental token analysis, compliance checks, risk assessment, and tokenomics integrity. ONDO led in both Alpha volume and vote volume, while BIGTIME excelled in Futures volume rankings, and VIRTUAL garnered substantial community support despite its lower trading volume rank.
Ondo (ONDO) is a decentralized investment banking protocol focused on democratizing access to structured yield strategies through on-chain financial products. Big Time (BIGTIME) is a free-to-play multiplayer RPG that combines fast-action combat with player-driven economies and NFT-based cosmetics. Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL) is a Web3 AI protocol creating plug-and-play gaming AIs co-created and co-owned by communities, representing an exciting intersection of AI and gaming.
The three tokens will be listed on the Spot Market on April 11, 2025, at 14:00 UTC, with six trading pairs: ONDO/USDT, ONDO/USDC, BIGTIME/USDT, BIGTIME/USDC, VIRTUAL/USDT, and VIRTUAL/USDC. Previously available on Binance Alpha, these tokens can now only be sold or transferred to Spot. Binance has applied Seed Tags to these tokens, indicating their early-stage, high-risk, and high-volatility nature. Traders must pass a quiz every 90 days to continue trading these tokens, ensuring they understand the associated risks.
Binance's decision to charge 0 BNB as the listing fee aims to promote early-stage projects and lower entry barriers. Initial market reactions were positive, with ONDO up 5%, VIRTUAL jumping 15%, and BIGTIME gaining 25%. However, veteran traders caution that gains may be short-lived without continued demand or bullish market sentiment. Binance Alpha users holding these tokens are advised to transfer them to their Spot wallets, as purchases via Alpha are now disabled.
The listing of these new tokens marks a significant step in Binance's community-driven approach to expanding its cryptocurrency offerings. By empowering its users to vote on new listings, Binance continues to foster a dynamic and engaged community, driving innovation and growth in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. The addition of these tokens not only diversifies the exchange's offerings but also aligns with Binance's mission to support innovative projects in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space. This move underscores Binance's commitment to community involvement and its role as a leader in the cryptocurrency market.
