Management Controls, Inc. (MCi) has appointed Erin McCarthy as Chief Revenue Officer, APAC, to accelerate the company's growth in the Asia Pacific region. McCarthy, a former Big Four partner, brings over 19 years of experience in growth strategy, innovation, and corporate transformation. She will leverage her expertise to drive MCi's expansion across the region, focusing on industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, mining, and utilities. McCarthy's appointment represents a strategic step in MCi's global strategy to help organizations achieve operational excellence and margin expansion goals.

Baker Hughes and PETRONAS have entered into a strategic partnership to support the energy expansion and transition in the Asia-Pacific region. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) aims to identify complementary technologies within their broad portfolios that can meet the region's growing energy demands.

The collaboration will focus on enhancing local supply chain capabilities and strengthening services for gas projects. Baker Hughes plans to expand its gas technology services facility in Malaysia to develop a full aeroderivative gas turbine module repair services facility, including disassembly, assembly, grinding, and testing capabilities. This expansion will support the region's growing installed base of over 600 gas turbines and accelerate service turnaround times.

The MoU also covers initiatives such as enhanced LNG services, cross-border talent training and development, exploration and production solutions, digital solutions including AI, and sustainable energy solutions like carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), as well as lubricants and biofuels for turbomachinery supply chains.

Baker Hughes Chairman and CEO Lorenzo Simonelli stated, "Growing alongside our customers in Asia-Pacific, including PETRONAS, is crucial as we work towards our shared goal of sustainable energy development. We look forward to working with PETRONAS and other local partners to realize this additional localization effort."

PETRONAS Senior Vice President of Projects, Technology & Health, Safety, Security & Environment (PT&HSSE) Ir. Ts. Mohd Yusri Mohamed Yusof added, "Our partnership with Baker Hughes is poised to drive excellence in project delivery, decarbonization, supply chain resilience, and technology adoption. It signifies what’s possible when two industry leaders unite to foster innovation ecosystems and shape the future of energy."

This partnership builds on Baker Hughes' longstanding relationship with PETRONAS, which began in 1975 with the joint development of LNG solutions. Currently, Baker Hughes operates two turbomachinery services facilities in Malaysia, with plans to assess the best location for its new expanded aeroderivative gas turbine services footprint in the country.
