Bharat Petroleum appoints Subhankar Sen as director marketing
In a strategic move, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has appointed Subhankar Sen as the new Director (Marketing). The appointment, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), marks a significant milestone in the company's leadership structure and is set to shape its future trajectory in the competitive petroleum sector.
Subhankar Sen, currently serving as the Executive Director at BPCL, will assume the role of Director (Marketing) effective from the date of his appointment until his scheduled superannuation on January 31, 2028, or until further directives are issued. His tenure is expected to bring innovative strategies and transformative initiatives to BPCL.
This appointment comes at a critical time for BPCL, as the company is gearing up for significant maintenance and expansion projects. The Bina refinery, one of BPCL's key facilities, will shut down its crude unit for 15 days in August 2025 for maintenance, affecting diesel production but ensuring gasoline production through its secondary unit [2]. Additionally, the refinery is scheduled for a 30-day shutdown in 2027 for capacity expansion to 220,000 barrels per day [2, 4].
The appointment of Subhankar Sen is seen as a strategic move to bolster BPCL's marketing efforts and align with its upcoming projects. His experience and expertise are expected to drive growth and evolution in the competitive landscape of the petroleum sector.
