Tamil Nadu Power Generation Corporation Ltd (TNGCPL) has terminated a ₹2,600 crore contract with BGR Energy Systems Ltd for the North Chennai Super Critical Thermal Power Project, Stage III, due to non-fulfillment of key project obligations. The project was commissioned in March 2024 and has reached its maximum capacity of 675 MW during a trial run. BGR said the termination has no major impact on its financials and operations, and it awaits a positive outcome from an arbitration application pending before the Madras High Court.
