The Benzinga World Championship of Trading, powered by TradeZero, has kicked off with a bang, as the top 10 contestants have already gained over 40% each in just one week. With over $30,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs, including a tour of the New York Stock Exchange, there's still time to join the competition and prove your trading prowess.
The contest, which runs for three months, consists of three separate competitions, each lasting around one month. Contestants start with a simulated trading account of $100,000 and have access to Benzinga's Live Squawk product and TradeZero's patented short selling tools. The first contest began on September 16 and runs through October 14, with registration open until October 7.
One of the top contestants, Kabir, is currently ranked third with a balance of $193,340.00 as of September 22. He attributes his success to the speed and flexibility of the TradeZero platform, as well as his aggressive trading style, which involves buying larger quantities and making scalp trades. Kabir also utilizes the weekend to research and mark levels on stocks on his watchlist, allowing him to enter trades with a clear risk-reward mentality.
Kabir's approach is just one example of the diverse strategies employed by the top contestants. Other leading traders, such as Marcus R. ($259,979.50), Bryce L. ($211,285.00), and Alexander S. ($190,903.68), have also demonstrated impressive returns, highlighting the competitive nature of the contest.
To participate in the Benzinga World Championship of Trading, contestants must be residents of the United States or Canada, be at least 21 years old, and complete a minimum of five days of trading with at least one trade per day. The last days to register for the first, second, and third contests are October 7, November 7, and December 8, respectively.
The prizes for the World Championship of Trading are substantial, with the first place winner of each contest receiving $5,000 to $15,000 in cash, a lifetime subscription to Benzinga Pro Essential, a tour of the New York Stock Exchange, and lunch for two at the NYSE. Second and third place winners also receive cash prizes and a one-year subscription to Benzinga Pro Essential.
