Beijing Aims to Lead Global Blockchain Innovation by 2027

Beijing has unveiled an ambitious Blockchain Innovation Application Development Action Plan for the period 2025-2027. The plan, jointly issued by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park Management Committee, outlines a comprehensive strategy to advance blockchain technology in the region.

The primary objective of the action plan is to significantly enhance the autonomous and controllable blockchain technology by 2027, thereby supporting the national digital infrastructure foundation. The plan aims to achieve breakthroughs in more than 10 key areas, including the development of blockchain-specific chips, privacy protection technologies, and PB-level trusted storage solutions. These advancements are expected to bolster the core technology fields and establish Beijing as a leader in blockchain innovation.

In addition to technological breakthroughs, the action plan also focuses on developing over 20 excellent application cases in five key areas, including artificial intelligence large models. This initiative is designed to showcase the practical applications of blockchain technology and demonstrate its potential to revolutionize various industries. Furthermore, the plan aims to establish a national-level blockchain hub node, which will serve as a central point for blockchain development and innovation in the region.

This action plan underscores Beijing's commitment to becoming a global leader in blockchain technology. By investing in research and development, fostering innovation, and promoting the practical application of blockchain, Beijing aims to create a robust ecosystem that supports the growth and adoption of this transformative technology.
