BBVA and SAP have formed a strategic alliance to significantly improve BBVA's corporate banking services. The partnership will integrate SAP's Multibank Connectivity solution, aimed at enhancing the efficiency and agility of financial transactions for business clients. The solution will be delivered through BBVA's Pivot ecosystem, offering centralized visibility and control over financial operations.
The alliance will enable BBVA to connect its services, including payments, collections, and working capital management, with SAP's enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. This integration aims to centralize financial transactions, automate key banking processes, and transform the client experience by reducing integration times.
David Arias, Global Head of Business and Institutions Banking Value Proposition at BBVA, commented, "Thanks to this alliance with SAP, we have taken a firm step forward in bringing our value proposition closer to businesses. We aim to make it easier for them to access our services and solutions by integrating ourselves into their processes in a more seamless and intuitive way."
Eva Rubio, Global Head of Global Transaction Banking at BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking, added, "This agreement with SAP showcases our commitment to innovation and the continuous improvement of our value proposition for businesses. We are integrating world-leading technological capabilities with our BBVA Pivot platform to enable smarter, more automated, and globally connected treasury management."
The integration will also automate payments and bank reconciliation, reducing errors and fraud associated with manual processes. It will enhance operational efficiency by simplifying and securing the exchange of financial information between companies and the bank. The alliance will offer connectivity with international standards such as EBICS and SWIFT, enhancing global interoperability and making banking communications more secure.
The partnership will be rolled out across all countries where BBVA operates, including Spain, Mexico, Türkiye, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, Portugal, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Italy, Hong Kong, and the United States. This global reach will enable all BBVA clients to benefit from the integrated solutions.
SAP's Managing Director of Spain, José Vallés, noted, "Now that BBVA is part of the SAP Multibank Connectivity solution, corporate clients can automatically run their treasury and payment processes directly from their own systems, while fully leveraging BBVA’s banking capabilities and services."
The alliance is part of BBVA's broader strategy to position itself as the leading digital financial partner for companies. By integrating SAP's cutting-edge technology with its own platform, BBVA aims to offer more agile and optimized financial solutions, attracting new corporate customers and retaining existing ones.
