Baker Hughes, a leading energy technology company, has secured a significant multi-year contract with Genesis Energy to supply drag-reducing agents (DRAs) for two key offshore pipelines in the Gulf of Mexico. The agreement, booked in the second quarter, includes chemical supply, management services, and the deployment of the Leucipa automated production solution.

Under the deal, Baker Hughes will utilize its FLO line of DRAs to enhance the flow of light and heavy crude from offshore platforms to storage and refining facilities in Texas and Louisiana. The technology aims to boost pipeline capacity, reduce operational friction, and improve crude handling flexibility. The Cameron Highway and Poseidon systems, which are operated and 64% owned by Genesis Energy, will benefit from this technology.

Baker Hughes EVP Amerino Gatti emphasized the importance of technology-driven solutions to meet rising U.S. energy demand without major capital investment. The proprietary formulations of the DRAs work efficiently across various crude types and temperatures while preserving crude quality. To support the growing demand for these products, Baker Hughes has expanded its domestic chemical production capacity, reinforcing its role in enhancing offshore energy infrastructure.

The contract highlights Baker Hughes' commitment to innovation and its ability to deliver solutions that address critical challenges in the energy sector. As the demand for energy continues to grow, the company's technology and services will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of the country's energy infrastructure.
