Bain Capital, the US private equity firm, has reportedly made a rival bid for Fuji Soft, the Japanese software developer, offering about 600 billion yen ($4.1bn) for the company, or about 5 per cent more than the offer made by Kkr, the private equity giant, last month. Bain's offer for Fuji Soft, which is reported to be about 9,200-9,300 yen per share, is said to be higher than Kkr's offer of 8,800 yen per share.
