DEEPX, an AI semiconductor company, has partnered with Baidu to spread AI solutions globally. The partnership involves joint participation in industrial AI projects, co-development of products, and promotion of customer activities. DEEPX will also convert OpenVINO-based AI models to be compatible with its DX-M1 chip and develop a dedicated NPU card for vision AI. The partnership aims to make AI solutions more accessible to industrial sites worldwide.

DEEPX, a leading AI semiconductor company, has partnered with Baidu to accelerate the deployment of AI solutions in global industrial sites. The partnership, announced on August 8, 2025, involves strategic cooperation to spread AI solutions applicable to various industries, including OCR, drones, and robotics.

As an official ecosystem partner based on Baidu's open-source deep learning framework PaddlePaddle, DEEPX will jointly participate in industrial AI projects, co-develop products, and promote global customer activities. Baidu's PaddlePaddle is widely used in smart cities, autonomous driving, image recognition, and speech processing, among other applications. It is regarded as the most popular AI development tool in China, adopted by thousands of companies and institutions.

Prior to the partnership, DEEPX's mass-produced chip, the DX-M1, demonstrated real-time performance on Baidu's fifth-generation PP-OCR and VLM-based models, achieving high frames per second (FPS) and power efficiency. Baidu has expressed interest in further collaboration to extend the cooperation to drones and robots. The DX-M1 will be used to compile and commercialize AI models for these applications.

DEEPX is also converting 10 representative OpenVINO-based AI models to be compatible with the DX-M1, making it easier for various customers to adopt and scale AI products powered by DEEPX NPUs. Additionally, DEEPX is developing a dedicated NPU card for vision AI, the V-NPU, which can replace GPUs and is expected to start mass production in September.

The partnership also includes discussions on next-generation product development. DEEPX will utilize Samsung Foundry's DX-M2, a 2nm AI semiconductor, to validate a prototype running Baidu's large AI model ERNIE-4.5-VL-28B-A3B. Baidu PaddlePaddle and ERNIE Team have proposed to jointly exhibit DEEPX at the 2025 Shenzhen (International) Artificial General Intelligence Conference in Shenzhen, with on-site demonstrations and joint marketing to global customers.

Lokwon Kim, CEO of DEEPX, stated, "Our partnership with Baidu marks an important turning point in the rapid spread of DEEPX's AI semiconductor technology to global industrial sites. We will strengthen our competitiveness in the global AI market through practical productization based on the PaddlePaddle and ERNIE Ecosystem and various industrial collaborations."
