AXIS Capital Launches AXIS Capacity Solutions to Enhance Multi-Line Portfolio Deals

AXIS Capital Holdings has launched AXIS Capacity Solutions to enhance multi-line portfolio capacity deals. David Murie will lead the new unit, reporting to Group Chief Underwriting Officer Dan Draper. AXIS Capital Holdings Limited (NYSE: AXS), a global specialty underwriter and provider of insurance and reinsurance solutions, has announced the launch of AXIS Capacity Solutions. This new business unit is dedicated to developing and supporting structured, multi-line portfolio capacity deals on both facilitated and delegated bases [1].

The company has appointed David Murie to the newly created role of Head of AXIS Capacity Solutions. Murie will report to AXIS Group Chief Underwriting Officer Dan Draper and be based out of the Company’s London office. The initiative aims to support distribution partners and capitalize on the growing trend of multi-line facilities, which are growing at a faster pace than the broader insurance market [2].

The creation of AXIS Capacity Solutions is designed to address the increasing trend of multi-line facilities across the global specialty insurance market. The company plans to leverage its expertise and global underwriting platform, including its licensing footprint at Lloyd’s, to develop and source multi-line portfolio structures at scale [1].

Murie brings a strong mix of experience spanning underwriting portfolio management, strategic sourcing, deal structuring, and regulatory and compliance acumen. Prior to AXIS, he held managerial roles at Aviva and served as Global Head of Underwriting Governance & Execution and Chief of Staff to the Group CUO at AXIS [1].

AXIS Capital, through its operating subsidiaries, has a shareholders' equity of $6.2 billion at June 30, 2025, and locations in Bermuda, the United States, Europe, Singapore, and Canada. Its operating subsidiaries have been assigned a financial strength rating of "A+" ("Strong") by Standard & Poor's and "A" ("Excellent") by A.M. Best [1].
