AWS SDK for Java 1.x to 2.x Migration Tool Released: A Guide to a Seamless Transition

AWS has released a migration tool to upgrade the Java 1.x SDK to the Java 2.x SDK. The tool automates the transition process using OpenRewrite, an open-source automated code refactoring tool. It supports transforming code for all service SDK clients and the Amazon S3 TransferManager high-level library. However, it does not support DynamoDBMapper high-level APIs, which require manual migration. The tool is available for Maven projects and can be run in dryRun or run modes to generate a diff log and patch file.
