Australia Introduces Targeted Power Futures Contracts to Mitigate Volatility in the Energy Market

The Australian Securities Exchange has rolled out state-by-state peak load electricity futures contracts for morning and evening hours. The new contracts aim to help traders hedge their exposure during volatile peak hours, taking into account Australia's high rate of rooftop solar. The current peak load contract will be delisted once open interest falls to zero.
