Broad Arrow Auctions, a leading global collector car auction house, is set to present an extremely rare Aston Martin DBZ Centenary Collection at its flagship Monterey Jet Center Auction on August 13-14, 2025. The collection, which includes a DB4 GT Zagato Continuation and a DBS GT Zagato, is a celebration of the over 60-year partnership between Aston Martin and Zagato [1].
The DBZ Centenary Collection features only 19 pairings of the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation and DBS GT Zagato, each sold together for £6.1 million ($8.1 million) in 2019. The cars were created to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Carrozzeria Zagato and the timeless collaboration between the two iconic brands [1].
The DB4 GT Zagato Continuation, built to take on Ferrari on the racetrack, is an impeccable recreation of the original 1960s model. It features an original Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) that dates it as a 1963 example, finished in stunning Caribbean Pearl with an interior upholstered in opulent Obsidian Black and Connolly Blue leather. The car took 4,500 hours to build using traditional methods and features period-correct Smiths gauges, a black crinkle finished dashboard, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The engine displacement has been increased from the original 3.7-liter straight-six to 4.7-liters, with 390hp at 6,000rpm [1].
The DBS GT Zagato, finished in Caribbean Blue, is a modern interpretation of the classic design, with a 'double-bubble' roof and carbon fiber bodywork. The car features a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine with 760hp and 900Nm of torque, pushed through an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox. The interior features opulent Dark Knight monotone leather with 3D-printed carbon and metal finishes [1].
The auction is expected to be a major highlight of the Monterey Car Week, with an estimated value for the DBZ Centenary Collection set at $3,500,000 - $4,500,000. The Monterey Jet Center Auction will feature over 170 desirable collector cars across various categories, with Broad Arrow’s 2024 event totaling $71.5 million with an 85 percent sell-through rate [1].
