ASML--

Dutch chipmaker ASML reported stronger sales to the Chinese market in the second quarter, as demand for advanced chipmaking equipment was boosted by AI momentum, and its total orders also exceeded expectations.

ASML said in a statement that net sales in the second quarter were 6.24 billion euros, above the market's 6 billion euro expectation. Bookings rose 54% quarter-on-quarter to 5.57 billion euros ($6.1 billion), above the market's 4.41 billion euro expectation.

The Chinese market accounted for nearly half of ASML's second-quarter sales, up 390 million euros from the previous quarter.

“We are currently seeing a strong AI development momentum driving the recovery and growth of most of our end markets ahead of other segments,” said ASML chief executive Christine Fouquet in a statement.

ASML confirmed its previous sales guidance that sales will plateau this year and recover to strong growth by 2025.

Turning market noise into visual signal.
