ARK Invest, a prominent investment management firm, has released its latest Big Ideas 2025 report, outlining a bullish scenario for Bitcoin. According to the report, Bitcoin could reach a staggering $1.5 million by the end of this decade. This projection is based on several accelerating trends, including rising institutional allocation, adoption of Bitcoin as a store of value, demand from emerging markets, and the growth of on-chain financial services. The report also highlights a growing appetite among nation-states and corporations to add Bitcoin to their reserves.
The investment firm’s base case pegs Bitcoin at $710,000, while its bear case still forecasts a sizeable increase to $300,000.
Invest attributes its projections to multiple accelerating trends, including rising institutional allocation, adoption of Bitcoin as a store of value, demand from emerging markets, and the growth of on-chain financial services. The report also points to a growing appetite among nation-states and corporations to add Bitcoin to their reserves. At the time of the report’s release, Bitcoin traded around $93,958, having recently recovered from a period of market volatility. ARK’s most optimistic scenario implies a nearly 15-fold increase from current levels, driven by what it sees as a structural transformation in global finance. The firm expects institutional investors to allocate up to 6.5% of their portfolios to Bitcoin in the most bullish scenario, with 2.5% as the base case. It also believes Bitcoin could eventually command 60% of gold’s current market value, reinforcing its digital gold thesis.
Emerging markets are another key focus. ARK estimates that Bitcoin could capture up to 6% of the monetary base in such economies, where inflation and currency instability continue to erode trust in traditional financial systems. It also sees meaningful upside from increased use by corporations and governments, which could allocate up to 10% and 7% of their reserves, respectively. The report further points to the expansion of Bitcoin’s utility beyond storage, particularly through Layer 2 networks, restaking protocols and tokenized assets. These developments are expected to contribute to a 60% annual growth rate in on-chain financial services.
While ARK’s official bull case targets $1.5 million per Bitcoin by 2030, the firm also introduces a refined model that adjusts for dormant or lost supply. Under this adjusted supply scenario, the bull case price could climb as high as $2.4 million, reflecting Bitcoin’s extreme scarcity and accelerating institutional demand. The report stops short of calling Bitcoin a guaranteed winner but positions it as a leading asset in a maturing digital monetary system that continues to gain mainstream traction.
