Arbitrum, a layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum, has been facing a challenging period as its native token, ARB, has experienced a significant decline in recent weeks. The token has dropped by 19.42% over the past month, with the majority of holders now operating at a loss.

According to data from IntoTheBlock, only 7% of ARB holders are currently in profit, while 89% are at a loss and 4% are at the money. This marked a historical low for holder profitability in the Arbitrum community. The recent market conditions have left investors worried about a potential crash, as profitability for holders continues to decline.

During this period, long-term holders have been exiting the market, with only 40% of ARB holders now holding the altcoin for more than a year. This exodus of long-term holders has raised concerns about the token's future prospects. As such, there are two possible scenarios: a 'final flush' where another drop could occur before a reversal emerges, or a potential bottom signal where large holders stop selling, leading to a trend reversal.

At press time, Arbitrum was experiencing strong downward pressure, with bears dominating the market. This downward pressure is evidenced by ARB's Advance Decline Ratio (ADR), which has dropped below 1. Additionally, Arbitrum's active users and adoption rate have experienced a sharp decline, with the NVT Ratio (with transaction volume) surging to 201 from a low of 29.46. This implies that transaction volume and active users have declined relative to market cap, suggesting that the token's price may drop further to meet actual demand.

Furthermore, Arbitrum's MVRV Ratio has experienced a sharp decline to -5.01, indicating capitulation and forced liquidations. This suggests that the market is experiencing strong fear, with holders selling at a loss. Despite the bearish sentiments, there is hope for a potential reversal, as the MVRV drop to negative territory offers a glimmer of optimism. If a reverse occurs, the altcoin could reclaim $0.74.
