Apple is considering using Tandem OLED technology in its iPhones, with LG Display proposing a "simplified" version of the technology. After receiving the proposal, Apple requested Samsung Display to look into the matter as well. The launch of iPhones with Tandem OLED screens is expected in 2028. Tandem OLED uses two emission layers to increase efficiency and brightness, and LG Display has been proposing this technology to Apple for years due to its longer history of making Tandem OLED panels.
