Apple Snaps Up Pixelmator: A Strategic Move to Enhance Creative Suite
Apple has reached an agreement to acquire photo editing software developer Pixelmator, a move set to enrich its suite of popular applications. The acquisition was announced by Pixelmator on Friday via a blog post, affirming that its team will become a part of Apple. The company, founded 17 years ago by brothers Saulius Dailide and Aidas Dailide, is known for developing applications on the Mac and iOS platforms.
Pixelmator stated, "An agreement has been signed for our acquisition by Apple, pending regulatory approval." The company assured users that their existing applications, namely Pixelmator Pro, Pixelmator for iOS, and Photomator, will not undergo significant changes in the immediate future. However, they teased that "exciting updates" are on the horizon. Apple, headquartered in Cupertino, California, confirmed the transaction. Specific terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
