Apple recently unveiled its latest iMac, featuring the powerful M4 chip and introducing “Apple Intelligence” AI capabilities, marking a significant step in integrating AI technology across its hardware lineup. These AI features extend beyond the iMac, encompassing iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

The new iMac boasts enhanced processing power with the M4 chip, featuring an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU, delivering marked improvements in performance. RAM capacity has been upgraded from previous models to 32GB, enhancing computational capabilities.

Apple claims that the new iMac offers up to 1.7 times faster performance in office applications like Microsoft Excel and 2.1 times speed increases in creative software such as Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro compared to its predecessor with the M1 chip, appealing to high-performance users.

In terms of design, the iMac is now available in a variety of colors including silver, green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, and blue, allowing it to blend into various environments. Additionally, the Magic Keyboard and Mouse use USB-C ports, aligning with Apple's other devices.

Apple also rolled out updates for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS alongside this release, implementing Apple Intelligence. CEO Tim Cook stated that these updates introduce unprecedented tools and experiences for users of iPhones, iPads, and Macs, expanding their capabilities significantly.

Apple Intelligence introduced features such as text rewriting, tone adjustment, grammar checks, and enhanced Siri language comprehension. The Photos app now supports searching for specific content in videos using natural language.

Email updates, like urgent message alerts, and enhanced telephone app features with recording and transcription capabilities, have improved daily usage efficiency.

While Apple Intelligence is not yet available in mainland China, future plans suggest potential inclusion of advanced features like ChatGPT support, offering consumers a more comprehensive smart experience.

Analysts note that the release of the new iMac and the significant M4 chip upgrade aim to bolster Apple's AI strategy. However, for regular users, the performance differences may not be evident in day-to-day tasks, and whether AI features become a purchasing decision factor remains to be seen.

Apple may release further updates and enhancements for Apple Intelligence in the coming months. Although these advancements might not immediately be accessible to all users, Apple’s commitment to future developments is clear. The question remains whether users will be willing to invest in these AI-enhanced experiences.
