Apple's (AAPL.US) senior veteran Riccio is leaving, having overseen the development of Vision Pro

Apple (AAPL.US) executive Dan Riccio is set to leave the company, according to reports, and has been focused on the development of the company's Vision Pro headset since 2021.Riccio is expected to depart the tech giant sometime this month, according to people familiar with the matter. Riccio graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.Riccio's employees in his Vision Products Group, including thousands of engineers working on the headset and related technologies, will be led by John Ternus, the head of Apple's hardware business, the report said. The Vision Products Group will be led by Riccio's right-hand man Mike Rockwell.Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.Riccio, who has worked at Apple for 26 years in various roles, stepped down as senior vice president in January 2021 to become vice president and left the company's executive team. In addition to Vision Pro, Riccio developed other products such as AirPods, iPad Pro, large-screen iPhones and Apple's failed car project.Another Apple executive, Dan Rosckes, the company's procurement chief, is also set to retire.
