Apple's (AAPL.US) new product launch event is scheduled to take place at 1:00 a.m. Beijing time on September 10. Apple is expected to release the iPhone 16 series of smartphones. Reports suggest that the A18 chip in the iPhone 16 will adopt Arm's (ARM.US) latest V9 architecture, promoting artificial intelligence (AI) features into mobile phones. Arm owns the intellectual property behind the architecture of most smartphone chips in the world, and mainly licenses it to other companies for revenue. Apple's custom chips for its iPhones, iPads, and Macs all use Arm's technology. Apple signed a "beyond 2040" agreement with Arm last September. In addition, Arm said in July that its V9 architecture chips accounted for 50% of smartphone revenue. The upcoming Apple's fall event is expected to be the largest in recent years. The iPhone 16 series is expected to include four models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. In addition to the iPhone 16 series, Apple is expected to release the Apple Watch Series 10 (or Apple Watch X) and possibly the AirPods 4.
