AAPL--
According to a leak from Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to support reverse wireless charging, a feature that Android users have had for years. The leak suggests that only the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will have this capability, while the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air will support standard Qi2 wireless charging but won't support reverse wireless charging [1].
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are also rumored to have larger batteries, which could make the devices thicker than the iPhone 16 Pro lineup. Additionally, they are expected to feature much larger camera visors on the back and ship in new colors like dark blue and orange. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumored to have the "most powerful" telephoto camera in a smartphone ever, while both models are expected to get anti-glare screens and faster performance [1].
The iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17, and iPhone 17 Air are rumored to debut at an Apple event on September 9. Pre-orders are expected to start on September 12, with in-store availability on September 19 [1].
Bank of America Securities analyst Wamsi Mohan maintained a Buy rating on Apple with a price forecast of $250, expecting iPhone 17 shipments to grow 1% to 235 million units in FY26 [2]. Mohan expects the iPhone 17 Air to debut on September 19, priced $100 higher than the current Plus model, with AI features, new Apple Watch, AirPods, and Siri upgrades. However, he noted that investor enthusiasm for the thinner design is subdued compared to past form-factor-driven cycles.
The iPhone 17 series is expected to include four models: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature that could easily be compared to Apple's MacBook Air or iPad Air, while the iPhone 17 Pro could have features similar to MacBook Pro or iPad Pro. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to have a 48MP main lens camera, coupled with 48MP each as periscope telephoto lens and ultra-wide lens, a significant upgrade from the previous iPhone series 12MP versions [3].
The iPhone 17 series is expected to launch on September 9, with pre-orders beginning on September 12 and in-store availability on September 19 [3].
