Apple plans to invest an additional $100 billion in the US, bringing its total pledge to $600 billion over four years. The investment will focus on domestic supply chain spending and includes a new production facility for iPhone screens in Kentucky. Trump praised the move, calling it "the largest investment Apple has made in America."

Apple Inc. has announced a significant acceleration of its U.S. investment, pledging an additional $100 billion to bring its total commitment to $600 billion over the next four years. This substantial investment will focus on domestic supply chain spending and includes a new production facility for iPhone screens in Kentucky [1].

The announcement comes with the launch of the American Manufacturing Program (AMP), which aims to bring more of Apple's supply chain and advanced manufacturing to the U.S. The program includes partnerships with companies such as Corning, Coherent, GlobalWafers America, Applied Materials, Texas Instruments, Samsung, GlobalFoundries, Amkor, and Broadcom. These partnerships will help fund a major expansion of Apple's operations, including the world's largest and most advanced smartphone glass production line at a factory in Harrodsburg, Kentucky [1].

Apple plans to directly hire 20,000 people in the U.S. over the next four years, with the majority focused on R&D, silicon engineering, software development, and AI and machine learning. The company is also expanding its end-to-end American silicon supply chain, with partners in every key aspect of silicon production. This includes TSMC in Arizona, which is producing tens of millions of chips for Apple using one of the most advanced process technologies in America [1].

The new investment will support the creation of thousands of jobs and significant expansions in various states, including Arizona, California, Iowa, Kentucky, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Utah. Apple has already partnered with thousands of suppliers across all 50 states, supporting more than 450,000 supplier and partner jobs [1].

Apple's commitment to U.S. manufacturing is part of a broader strategy to lead the creation of an end-to-end silicon supply chain in the United States. The company is also expanding its data center capacity in various states, including Iowa, Nevada, and Oregon, to support its services such as iCloud, the App Store, Apple Music, iMessage, Apple TV+, and Apple Sports [1].

The new investment is expected to have a significant impact on the U.S. economy, creating jobs and stimulating growth. Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, praised the move, stating, "Today, we’re proud to increase our investments across the United States to $600 billion over four years and launch our new American Manufacturing Program" [1].
