【iPhone】

Apple is preparing to release a minor iOS 17.6.1 update for the iPhone, focusing on bug fixes and security patches. The update is expected to be released in the first half of August.

Apple has stopped signing iOS 17.5.1, preventing downgrades to that version. This move ensures users stay updated with the latest security enhancements.

Apple TV users will soon be able to AirDrop web links to their iPhone or iPad with the latest tvOS 18 developer beta. This feature allows various useful functions, such as viewing content on other devices.

【iPad】

The third betas of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 are now available to public beta testers. The updates introduce Apple Intelligence, new Home Screen customization options, and a revamped Control Center.

Some prompts used to direct Apple Intelligence reveal how Apple aims to avoid hallucinations and ensure accuracy in its AI features. These pre-prompt instructions provide specific guidelines for functionalities like Smart Reply and the Memories feature in Apple Photos.

【Mac】

Apple released the third beta of macOS Sequoia to its public beta testing group, featuring iPhone Mirroring, improved window tiling, and enhanced Safari and Messages apps. New apps and tools include a Passwords app, redesigned Photos and Notes apps, and various AI-driven features like Image Playground and Genmoji.

macOS Sequoia will make it more difficult to override the Gatekeeper security function to install software. Users will need to review security information in System Settings to run non-notarized apps.

Earlier this year, Apple added the last MacBook Pro with a CD/DVD drive to its obsolete products list. Now, it appears the aging external USB SuperDrive might soon follow, as it is listed as "Sold Out" on Apple's online store in the US.

【Apple Watch】

The third beta of watchOS 11 is now available to public beta testers. New features include a Vitals app, Smart Stack with interactive widgets, Training Load for measuring workout intensity, customizable Activity Ring requirements, and various other improvements.

【Vision Pro】

Apple Arcade will gain three new games in September, including NFL Retro Bowl '25 and Monster Train+. For the Apple Vision Pro, a new game called Puzzle Sculpt will be available, allowing players to solve puzzles and place Deco Objects in virtual space.

Apple Vision Pro users can now explore an immersive SpongeBob SquarePants-themed environment with the Paramount+ app. The update includes interactive features like catching jellyfish and adapting environments when streaming content.

【Others】

Aqara introduced a new Presence Sensor FP1E, designed to keep smart home products like lights turned on when someone is in the room. The sensor uses millimeter wave technology and connects to HomeKit through an Aqara Matter bridge.

Disney will increase the cost of its streaming services, including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, starting October 17. Prices will go up for both ad-supported and ad-free plans, along with some bundles.

Apple has released the third public beta of tvOS 18, featuring the InSight function for real-time information on actors and music, Enhanced Dialogue for better vocal clarity, new screen savers, and improvements like Live Captions during FaceTime calls.
