【iPhone】

Apple has increased iPhone 16 production by 10% to meet high demand, leading Foxconn to hire 50,000 new workers at its Zhengzhou factory, which is now operating at full capacity. The factory produces around 80% of Apple's iPhones. Enhanced wages and bonuses have been introduced to attract labor, and Apple is planning to produce more iPhone models in India. The new iPhone 16 models are expected to launch next month.

iOS 18 introduces new features like Home Screen customization and a redesigned Photos app, while iOS 18.1 adds Apple Intelligence features such as writing tools and phone call recording. The updates are currently in beta testing, with iOS 18 expected in mid-September and iOS 18.1 in late October. Both betas are available for developer testing, and iOS 18 is also available as a public beta.

In select U.S. states, residents can now add their driver's license or ID to the Apple Wallet app on their iPhone and Apple Watch. This feature is available in Arizona, Maryland, Colorado, Georgia, and Ohio, with California preparing to support it. It can be used at select TSA checkpoints and some businesses to show proof of age or identity.

【iPad】

OpenAI announced that ChatGPT now allows users to create up to two images per day for free. Apple will integrate ChatGPT into Siri across iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, allowing users to generate text and images without an account. ChatGPT Plus subscribers can access additional features.

iOS 18 expands Adaptive Lighting support to Matter-compatible smart lights, allowing automatic color temperature adjustments throughout the day. This feature, initially for HomeKit-enabled devices, will now work with Matter standard lights. Additional smart home enhancements include improved guest access controls and support for robotic vacuum cleaners.

【Mac】

Apple plans to update its entire Mac lineup to the M4 processor over the next 12 months, including MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac lines. The Mac mini will also feature its first redesign since 2010, becoming Apple's smallest desktop computer. The updates will begin with the Mac mini and continue with MacBook Air, Mac Pro, and Mac Studio in 2025.

Apple updated its Apple Maps on the web to support Firefox, allowing users on Mac, PC, and iPad to access the service. Features include walking and driving directions, location searches, and discovering places to visit. Look Around for street-level viewing will be added in the coming months.

【Apple Watch】

Apple is working on a third-generation Apple Watch SE, potentially launching in 2024 with a major design change to a plastic casing. This could make the watch cheaper than the current $250 model and more appealing to children, with potential bright color options. The plastic casing would also be more durable and lighter than aluminum.
