Apollo Global Management, a prominent private equity firm, has joined forces with Securitize to launch a pioneering tokenized private credit fund, as announced on January 30. The Apollo Diversified Credit Securitize Fund (ACRED) will tokenize shares of its Apollo Diversified Credit Fund, which boasts a diverse portfolio of private credit assets, including direct loans to corporations and asset-backed loans. This innovative fund is set to operate on multiple blockchain networks, including Solana, Ethereum, Avalanche, Polygon, Aptos, and Ink.

The ACRED fund has demonstrated impressive performance, with an annualized return of over 11% in the past year and more than 5.5% since its inception. Access to the fund is restricted to qualified investors. This collaboration between Apollo and Securitize marks the first time Securitize has launched tokenized funds on the Solana and Ink networks.

Christine Moy, a partner at Apollo, expressed her enthusiasm about the tokenization of the fund, stating that it not only provides an on-chain solution for the Apollo Diversified Credit Fund but also has the potential to pave the way for broader access to private markets, including enhanced secondary market liquidity.

The global market opportunity for tokenized real-world assets is substantial, with an estimated $30 trillion in potential value. Colin Butler, Polygon's global head of institutional capital, believes that the adoption of tokenized assets will be driven by a significant increase in portfolio allocations to alternative assets, such as private credit, as tokenization brings liquidity and accessibility to historically illiquid asset classes.

The US private credit market has experienced remarkable growth, expanding from $1 trillion in 2020 to around $1.5 trillion in 2025, and is projected to reach approximately $2.8 trillion by 2028. As of January 30, private credit already comprises a majority of the total value locked in tokenized real-world assets, with more than $11 billion invested in the sector.

Some of the most popular tokenized real-world asset funds include the Hashnote Short Duration Yield Coin (USDY), BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL), and Franklin OnChain US Government Money Fund (FOBXX). Tokenized money market funds collectively command around $3.4 billion as of January 30.
